Four years ago, Allen disappeared from her dreams, after what felt like lifetimes of nightly conversations. A few days after that, the world ended.
Since then, Olivia and Onbo have been travelling, looking for answers. What they find at the start of Ynverses is a world with eerie parallels to old names, places, and memories. And, better yet, a trail of breadcrumbs that may lead them to Allen.
Ynverses is an urban-fantasy story set in a town surrounding a modern college campus. It follows themes of independence and growth after Olivia decides that ultimately, she is the writer of her life’s story, not prophecies or Powers, and certainly not Allen.
Crew

I want this to be a collaborate creative process, that is, if you would like to go the extra mile, the opportunities are there: You can treat your spot in crew an as opportunity to directly influence the narrative based on the symbolism, metaphors, and meaning you thread into your work. I will reference your original ideas in the story!
Gaffer
The gaffer will help tell the story through lighting. If you like creating subtle symbolism through specific color patterns and angles on characters, apply 🙂
Storyboard Artist
Capture the story on paper, Help plan out the creative narrative’s translation the visual world! Optional: help with some of the choreography for song numbers and the fight scene,
Wardrobe + Hair And Makeup
Responsible for character design! Again, any information about characters the audience can infer based on your work is great! If you want to go the extra mile, you can create backstories/reasons why the character wears this style and we’ll tie it into the plot!
Q&A
Questions I think people might have after reading!
- When are the filming dates? – Filming will be the weekend after Week Nine: Saturday, May thirty-first to Sunday, June first.
- Budget? – Budget shouldn’t be an issue, no fundraisers before or after filming will be required 🙂
- How will musical portions work? – No sound will be recorded during shooting of the musical sections, they will be lip synced to a backing track with vocals. This means that a decent chunk of the film’s runtime does not need sound equipment, which should result in a faster shoot.
- When will songs be recorded with the actors singing? – Recordings can be done after the shooting dates. Temporary demo tracks can be used during the shoot. The intro and credits songs can be done during post-production.
- Props? – Props have been bought. This includes a prop dagger for Amy, prop whip for Allen, Mimosa’s book, and the Tree Pin.
- I’m confused about the Powers, what do they mean, what are they? – The magical Powers originated from an ancient village/folklore in the story’s lore. Each Power represents a concept, and characters who hold certain Powers usually have personalities that match what the Power represents. Ex. Olivia is generally hopeful The Powers and their backstory are explained in the first song “What Once Was,” Most of the script was made with the notion that the audience has seen heard intro song before anything else, but since that isn’t the case for filming, it may be more confusing.
