Chalom Lux is a film series produced by students at UCSB. It is independent of any classwork and is fully made as a hobby and passion project.
Chalom Lux is made under Saiysei Productions, a production company and club based here on campus. You do not have to be a member to work on the films.
Chalom Lux is not-for-profit. We currently do not plan to hold fundraisers at businesses in IV, and all funding is provided by the director.
We plan to make films until the end of the 2027–2028 school year.

Cast members will be paid starting from the Winter 2027 film, Faena.
We do not plan to have crew paid on their own, but all crew members will be invited to double as cast members, which will be paid.
Additionally, films currently being made will be submitted to film festivals, and any cash prizes won from festivals will be paid out to the cast AND crew who worked on the film.
